Tough break, wonder how many votes that will be short?
Wait until next year...
Numbers in - 2 votes! Incredible given some of the names receiving votes.

I still don't understand how Thomas can get in playing close to 60% of his games at DH (And his play at 1B did nothing to help him) yet they continue to deny Edgar.

I do love Biggio too and wish he had gotten that 2 extra vote he needed to get in.
That said...unbelievably excited!!! Planning to be in Cooperstown July 27th to see a class of Maddux, Glavine, Thomas, Cox, Torre, and LaRussa go into the HOF!!!
Maddux was my childhood hero and I've always said I'm going to be there the year he goes in. Also, more than just a pitcher, he was a life coach-- least we forget the greatest ad campaign of all time "Chicks dig the long ball"
In all seriousness I just counted it back with a spreadsheet and I am 99% sure it was the summer after that ad aired that I hit career HRs #1&2.

Agree with Biggio and Edgar, also Bagwell & Raines...Just glad Morris didn't make it. He was good just not HOF.

No disrespect to Martinez, but Thomas > Martinez. Plus Thomas' playing the field led to him compiling a lot more PAs, thus a lot more counting stats (over 200 more HRs, and almost 500 more RBIs than Martinez).

I don't feel too bad for Biggio, he is going to get the call, its just a matter of how long he has to wait in my opinion. Next Year is going to be tough again, but I bet he gets in. I'm glad Thomas got in, I think he is one of the 10 best right handed hitters ever, definitely in the top 15. I also hate the DH, but when you put up those kind of numbers, you deserve to be in the Hall, regardless of his defensive shortcomings.

I actually hope it overcomes the bias and allows more to be voted in. Though I realize Edgar has very little chance anymore.

And for a horse of a different color...Whoever the idiots were that voted for Jacque Jones and Armando Benitez ought to have there privileges revoked.

In general, I think who gets to vote needs to be reassessed. There are some very interesting voting patterns. In terms of Edgar, he is a fringe candidate in my opinion. Better than some players that are currently in the Hall, but will be up against a lot of great players in the near future, which might make it difficult for him to get in.

Victory at last! Congrats Biggio.
Now to get Bagwell, Piazza, and Raines into the HOF...
